Why is nutrition important?

Eating a good healthy, balanced diet is an essential step in attaining your fitness goals.
To be healthy we all need to eat the correct amounts of the following:

  • Vitamins and Minerals
  • Essential Fats   
  • Carbohydrates    
  • Proteins
  • Water

Eating either too much or too little of any of these will negatively affect your health. When you get the correct balance of foods in your diet you will:

  • Perform at your best - Maintain good energy levels.
  • Maintain excellent health - Achieve and maintain your optimum weight.
  • Reduce the chance of future health problems - Achieve an improved self-image.

I include nutritional information as part of the Personal Training Service. If you wish to consult me only about nutrition then I will ask you to keep an accurate food diary for a week to illustrate your normal eating patterns. We will then meet up and assess what needs changing to optimise your food input. I will give recommendations tailored specifically for you. Remember that faddy diets DO NOT WORK.
