Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is massage based treatment for pain and discomfort of muscles and joints. It works by manipulating soft tissue, tendons, ligaments and skin.  It rebalances muscle groups, improves circulation and lymph drainage and rejuvenates tissue. A good massage can leave you feeling calm, relaxed and free from pain.

Relaxing Massage
This massage is very gentle, promotes well-being and leaves you de-stressed. If you have never had massage before, this is a good one to try first.

Remedial Massage
Many people sometimes suffer from backache, shoulder problems, stiff joints etc.  This may be a result of injury, bad posture, tension, stress etc.  When muscles stay contracted – or   tightened - for a long time, they don’t work properly.  Remedial massage is very good at dealing with this.  It reduces pain and tension, improves muscle tone and enables movement.  It helps to speed up circulation and flushes out the toxins causing pain and stiffness. Other benefits are: improving skin elasticity, breaking down fatty tissue, speeding up recovery, removing scar tissue and preventing injury.

Sport Massage
Sport massage is designed for people involved in physical activity.  But you do not have to be a professional athlete to have one!  Anyone leading an active life might benefit.  It prevents and treats injury and improves performance.  Sport massage is deep and intense.  It includes Swedish massage techniques, friction, soft tissue release, trigger point response (similar to acupressure) and stretching.

The benefits of Massage include:

  • Eases stiffness, tension and pain
  • Improves the range of motion and muscle
  • Flexibility, improving power and performance
  • Reduces the likelihood of injury
  • Improves circulation and lymph flow
  • Shortens the recovery time between workouts
Speeds up rehabilitation after injury
